Rachel Parfenchuk (soprano) is a conductor, performer, and teacher who began her career as a vocalist before developing a passion for conducting. As a conductor, Parfenchuk is experienced in both choral and orchestral repertoire and served as Director of Music Ministries at Powell United Methodist Church from 2019-2025. In 2021,  she conducted the premiere of Columbus Dance Theater’s ballet, Wonderment, featuring the music of  Alexander Glazunov, and returned to the podium with this production 2022-2024.  Parfenchuk also served as guest conductor with the Hilliard Bach Ensemble (2022) The Westerville Symphony Children’s Chorus (2023) and Ohio Wesleyan University Choral Art Society (2025). Ms. Parfenchuk, soprano, has earned degrees in voice from both Cleveland Institute of Music and Ohio Wesleyan University. As a vocalist, she has performed both concert and opera repertoire with companies including Opera Columbus, Central Ohio Symphony and Converging Arts Columbus. Parfenchuk is a founding member of Converging Arts Columbus, a collaborative group that takes a multidisciplinary approach to music and the performing arts in the Columbus. Recently, Rachel moved to San Juan Puerto Rico with her husband and is immersing herself in the Boricua community and culture while maintaining her position as President of Converging Arts Columbus.
